BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Staind is coming to Birmingham to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their multiplatinum album, “Break the Cycle,” and they’re not coming alone.

While “Break the Cycle” was Staind’s third studio album, it was the one that shot the band into mainstream success in 2001.

“It’s Been Awhile,” the album’s lead single, spent 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks as well as 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks list.

Aaron Lewis, the lead singer of Staind, looks back at the band’s 1993 beginnings in awe.

“If you told me we would be doing this in 2026 I’d have laughed at you,” Lewis said. “This has truly been the most amazing ride we could have ever possibly been on, and it’s been the most amazing experience that you could have ever provided us.”

The other bands taking the stage have each carved out their own place in the rock landscape of the 2000s, bringing some of the decade’s biggest hits to Birmingham.

Seether broke into the mainstream with songs including “Broken” and “Remedy,” while Hinder became a fixture of rock radio with “Lips of an Angel.”

Hoobastank also found its biggest success in the early 2000s. “Crawling in the Dark” helped launch the band’s debut album, while “The Reason” became its signature hit, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
