Dolly-themed Magic City Pop-Up Plaza, Picnic at Railroad Park happening this weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Magic City Pop-Up Plaza is going country Friday, celebrating one of music’s biggest stars.

Sept. 25 is being widely dubbed “Dolly Parton Day” in reference to the late singer’s hit, “9 to 5,” and the Birmingham-based market is celebrating Dolly with her music played throughout the evening.

The Pop-Up Plaza will take place from 4-7 p.m. on the Regions Bank 17th Street Plaza and feature food and booths from local venders.

Just two days later, the Birmingham community has been invited to Picnic at Railroad Park from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Railroad Park will host a public picnic with food trucks, live music and more Sunday. (WBRC)

Described as Birmingham’s “front lawn party,” the event will feature live music from Alvin Garrett, local food trucks, a kid zone, local artists, makers and merchants.
