HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) - Bluff Park residents have a new place to grab a drink, meet a neighbor or settle in for a little work. The Park Nutrition, owned by Bluff Park resident Ashley Bahr, combines protein shakes, caffeinated teas and hydration drinks with space for meetings, events, and casual gatherings.

“I opened up The Park Nutrition to give our community a healthy, quick option,” Bahr said. “We also want it to be a hangout, a community place where people can meet each other.”

The menu includes meal-replacement shakes with 17 grams of protein, along with teas that can be customized with collagen, protein, electrolytes, creatine, or an immunity boost. Some teas contain about 200 milligrams of caffeine, while specialty teas pair a lower caffeine level with added protein.

Bahr’s personal favorite is the Daisy Duke, a strawberry-watermelon tea made with berry protein. Customers can choose from sweet and sour flavor combinations, depending on their preferences.

Younger neighborhood residents also have an option designed for them. The kids’ hydration drink includes magnesium and vitamins C and D. Bahr said children often ride their scooters to the shop, enjoy a drink with friends, and then continue on their way.

Beyond the beverage menu, The Park Nutrition features products from local vendors, many of whom are mothers operating small businesses on the side. The shop also offers room for meetups, meetings, events and remote work.

“I’m just so grateful to be a part of the community,” Bahr said. “I always want people to feel welcome and let us be the bright part of their day.”
