BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The final performances of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” are underway at Red Mountain Theatre with the final show taking place on Sunday, July 19.
The production features Broadway veteran Liz McCartney as Ursula, the iconic sea witch.
McCartney says bringing Ursula to life takes much more than putting on a costume. From makeup and wigs to the famous tentacles, transforming into one of Disney’s most memorable villains is a process all its own.
WBRC’s Russell Jones got a behind-the-scenes look at that transformation and even tried on Ursula’s tentacles for himself.
