BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Kodiak Brands Clothing didn’t start as a fashion dream, it started as a hard question.
JerMarcus “Bear” Walker was focused on MMA, chasing fights and living in a world where one injury can change anything. Then a conversation at a Nipsey Hussle tribute pushed him to consider life beyond fighting.
That moment sparked an unexpected pivot, one that would turn a few shirts into something much bigger for him.
Walker launched Kodiak Brands Clothing after selling out his first batch of T-shirts.
He cycled through a few names for the business until a close friend, Wayne, a barber, helped him land on the symbol that matched the man. Out of a lineup of animals, Wayne didn’t hesitate: the bear.

It fit Walker’s personality, and it fit his nickname, “Bear,” which had already been riding with him for years. When Wayne introduced him to the idea of a Kodiak, it clicked. Strong. Distinct. Unmistakable.
That’s how Kodiak became more than a name, it became the brand.
Kodiak Brands sells custom luxury sportswear tracksuits. Walker said the brand focuses on quality material, comfort and fit that lasts through multiple washes.
Customers choose their color, provide measurements, and receive a custom-made tracksuit. Orders take about two weeks from purchase to delivery.
The tracksuit is currently the only design available, offered in red, black and blue.

Walker said he plans to expand the lineup with T-shirts and shorts in July, followed by additional jackets.
