BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - There is something about sipping on a Sonic slush during the summer that just feels oh so right.
To celebrate the return of warmer weather, the fast food chain is bringing back a fan-favorite drink.
The Red, White & Blue Slush Float is making its returning just in time for America’s 250th birthday.
The colorful and bold desert brings together icy blue raspberry slush, vanilla soft serve and real strawberries.
To make the treat even more festive this year, the Red, White & Blue Slush Float will come in a limited-edition cup celebrating America’s 250th birthday with designs inspired by iconic US landmarks.

The popular treat is coming along, though. It is part of a new tropical-inspired summer menu.
The Tropical Heat Sonic Smasher features two Angus beef patties topped with pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, mayo and a sweet-and-spicy jalapeño pineapple glaze.
Wash it down with Tropical Cream Slush, blending pineapple and coconut slush swirled with vanilla soft serve and real pineapple pieces.
“Summer is when our guests come together for fun, flavorful moments and we crafted a lineup that delivers on that,” said Barbara Williams, Vice President of Culinary Innovation & Category Management at SONIC. “From the beloved Red, White & Blue Slush Float to tropical-inspired creations that bring sweet heat and creamy coolness, these drinks and bites are made for celebrating, sharing and soaking up the season.”
The summer menu will be available nationwide beginning June 1 with early access available May 26 in the Sonic app.
