MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Hero Doughnuts & Buns in downtown Montgomery has shut its doors.
The Birmingham-based restaurant opened in the Capital City less than one year ago in May 2025. It was located on North Perry Street just minutes away from the Legacy Museum.
A sign taped on the door says, “Hero Diner is now closed. We are grateful for your business and support this last year!”
It is not yet known what exactly led to the closure of the Montgomery location.
Our Birmingham sister station, WBRC, reported on April 17 that the Pihakis Restaurant Group was assessing all its store locations “and a couple of them have maintenance and other issues that may dictate whether we keep a location open or not.”

Hero’s Trussville location is closed indefinitely “due to mechanical issues,” and the Hoover location has been permanently closed.
