BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A week full of good-looking men in high fashion is about to kick off in Birmingham!

It’s BirmingHim Men’s Fashion Week starting Wednesday, April 29 and running until Sunday, May 3. It’s where men will walk the runway in many different parts of Birmingham this week.

The vibe is equal parts luxury and local pride and the event is masterminded by Perry Varner, a producer with New York-level fashion week experience who’s bringing that big-city polish straight to the Magic City.

Varner’s mission is simple: elevate men’s style here at home and make sure everyone is invited to the party.

He hand-selected eight emerging designers and brands, including Ian Rashad and Derek Anderson of Trim and Vine, each bringing their own… flavor.

Rashad describes his look as classic silhouettes with a modern twist. Traditional, but never tame. Anderson’s Trim and Vine keeps things sharp and wearable, with tailored suits that still turn heads. Think: clean lines, confident details and just enough edge to make people have to ask, “Where’d you get that?”

This isn’t just one night, it’s a full week of events and most of it is free to the community. The kickoff is a Shop and Sip Soirée at the Summit from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The opening event has music, food and menswear retailers.

Thursday brings a Mental Health Expo at the Negro Southern League Museum, centered on the idea, “dressed to heal.”

Friday is Girls Night Out with a private Devil Wears Prada 2 screening. Saturday is the wellness expo, and the main fashion show at Workplay. Sunday wraps it all up with a rooftop Dapper Day party and Michael’s restaurant and Bar Sebastian.

Translation: whether you’re a college kid building your first suit game or someone ready to “ball out,” Birmingham’s runway is ready for you.
