Boom Ball blends baseball, high-energy entertainment for night of family fun in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Baseball meets high-energy entertainment when Boom Ball brings its own twist on America’s pastime to the Magic City.

The touring baseball show announced Friday that they’re brining their one-of-a-kind family entertainment to Birmingham’s Regions Field.

The two-hour show will will feature the co-ed teams - the Lucky Llamas and the Chaos Crew - at the home of the Barons.

John Cook, the General Manager of the Barons, said that while the organization celebrates baseball’s traditions, they also believe in pushing the experience forward.

“Boom Ball is bold, fast, unpredictable, and built for today’s fans; it’s baseball reimagined to bring energy, entertainment, and excitement to every moment,” Cook said. “This is more than a game, it’s a show, it’s a spectacle, and it’s exactly the kind of experience that reminds us why we love coming to the ballpark. We can’t wait for our fans to be part of it.”

Similar to the wildly popular Banana Ball, Boom Ball is a two-hour spectacle that features former collegiate and minor league players, softball stars and reality TV personalities.

Organizers say to expect “a fast-paced, interactive ballpark experience filled with music, crowd participation and surprise moments throughout the night.”

The show will include a stadium-wide light show, a fireworks show and Boom Fest, a pre-game festival with player appearances.

Boom Ball comes to the Regions Field on Saturday, July 25. Boom Fest begins at 5:30 p.m. with opening ceremonies starting at 7 p.m. The game beings at 7:30 p.m.
