BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) is bringing the smooth sound of jazz to downtown.
As part of their Loud at the Library series, the BPL is celebrating International Jazz Day with a free outdoor concert featuring the Magic City’s own Tully Kay.
Kay, a Birmingham-base saxophonist known for his engaging style and deep appreciation of jazz, will perform Thursday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Henley Park.

International Jazz Day is celebrated annually on the last day of April, otherwise known as Jazz Appreciation Month.
The concert in Birmingham is free to attend and guests are encouraged to bring a chair.

Henley Park is located at 716 Richard Arrington Boulevard, nestled between the BPL Research Library and the Jefferson County Courthouse across from the Birmingham Public Library’s central location
In the event of inclement weather, the performance will move to the first-floor stage of the library’s East Building.
The concert will start at 11 a.m. and last until 1 p.m.
