BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Serial entrepreneurs Brandon and Brandi Brooks saw a need, and they filled it. That need was not having a place in Birmingham that could accommodate a private party venue for kids. That is when the lightbulb lit up, and Playdate was born.
“We wanted to make it a place where their kids don’t get bored, where they come in and they got this ultimate party, a party place where they can come in and just wear themselves out,” said Brandon Brooks.
Playdate, a new business in the neighborhood, is a private party and indoor play center catering to kids up to about 12 years old.
It’s a fun and safe space where families can celebrate, and kids can play together.

Brandi Brooks said that when guests reserve the space, they don’t have to share it with anyone.

“It’s just you and your guests here,” Brandi said. “It can be family play dates. It can be birthday parties. It can be summer camps. It can be all of that. We cater to all of those.”
When you walk into the facility, you think the space you see is all there is. But when you keep walking around, a new world opens up with an obstacle course structure that is full of hidden corners and new adventures.
The 5,000-square-foot building has so much for kids to explore and play.
“So you’ve got slides, you’ve got an infant station right behind us where they, crawling babies, zero to five, they have their own section,” Brandon said. “And all those older kids, they have their own section as well where they can go in and enjoy themselves and have the ultimate party experience.”
Playdate has been open since January, and it definitely fills the need of a private facility for your child and friends. A place where you don’t have to worry about your child being trampled by bigger kids because you rented the entire place to yourself.
