Mumford & Sons releases new album, announces North American tour with stop in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Folk rock band Mumford & Sons is celebrating the release of their sixth album with a North American tour that includes Birmingham.

“Prizefighter,” featuring the new single “Rubber Band Man” with special guest Hozier, released Friday.

Along with the release their second album in less than 12 months, the band announced the Prizefighter Tour will kick off in June with stops at Madison Square Garden, Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Birmingham’s Coca-Cola Amphitheater.

Along with Marcus King Band, Mumford & Sons will bring their unique sound to the Magic City on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Mumford & Sons was formed in London, England in 2007 by Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane, Ben Lovett and Winston Marshall. Their debut album, “Sigh No More,” featured the hit song “Little Lion Man” and won Album of the Year at the 2011 Brit Awards while peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200.
