CLANTON, Ala. (WBRC) - For 100-plus years, one building stood in Clanton as a source of entertainment.
But that ended 40 years ago. That was, until now.
Kevin and Kelly Easterling have come to Clanton to bring back a century of memories with a historical landmark theater.
They call it Peach County Theater, and it serves as an entertainment destination for people all around.
Dating back to 1923, this theaters has served a variety of entertainment forms to central Alabama. Not much has changed on the outside, except a paint job and getting the marquee up and running. But, on the inside, there is a complete renovation from the plumbing to the painted walls.

Today, the Peach County Theater shows full-feature movies and, on occasion, concerts.
Kelly and Kevin moved to the area from Florida for a slower pace of life, but it’s been full speed ahead ever since they arrived.
The renovations took three years, but it has paid off as people from surrounding counties come to Clanton to catch a movie, some new and some old. And, if country music is your thing, they have a list of future concerts lines up to perform on stage.
“We’ve had two concerts already,” Kelly Easterling said. “We had Maggie Balk from Nashville and the Tanner Laws Band out of Montana. They traveled all the way here and made a whole Southeast tour out of it.”
The theater has one screen to show movies, mostly Thursday through Sunday. The Peach County Theater will usually show a movie for two or three weeks.

“For example, we have Super Mario Brothers coming out April 1, so we’ll be open special on a Wednesday for that one, and that one will run for three weeks, because that’s a big blockbuster,” Easterling said.
When you come in, you will be greeted by Kevin, Kelly and their two kids.
Even though the building is over 100 years old, you wouldn’t think it if you were on the inside.
Kelly said they worked to make the theater modern and comfortable, with the inside featuring a mix of modern accompanied by some parts of old-fashioned charm.
