Riley Green to host charity concert in Gadsden

GADSDEN, Ala. (WBRC) - A country music singer and Alabama native will be coming to perform in Gadsden this spring.

According to Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford, Jacksonville native Riley Green will be performing at The AMP Gadsden on Tuesday, April 14, at 7 p.m.

Green is a multi-platinum, ACM and CMA award-winning singer and songwriter. He will be joined by special guests to perform an all-acoustic set, following his celebrity golf tournament.

The tournament will be held earlier the same day at the RTJ Golf Trail at Silver Lakes. Proceeds from both events will benefit Green’s charity, the Buford Bonds Foundation.

The Buford Bonds Foundation was established in 2023 in honor of Green’s grandfathers. It supports nonprofit organizations around the country which helps those who need it most. Previous donations include The Recording Academy’s fire and hurricane relief efforts, Folds of Honor and more.

“The City is honored that Riley chose The AMP for his benefit concert,” said Ford. “Riley Green is no stranger to Gadsden, and this is an incredible opportunity for residents to see top - tier talent right here in their hometown. And it’s all for a good cause.”

Ford noted that Green’s concert will be the first event to showcase the amphitheater’s upgraded seating.

“We’ve been focused on making big improvements to our historic, riverfront amphitheater,” Ford said. “Now, it’s more inviting for visiting artists and creates an even better experience for our guests. We can’t wait for everyone to see what’s new.”
