HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WBRC) - A popular bakery in downtown Homewood is closing its doors even earlier than expected.
Savages Bakery & Deli has been a Birmingham landmark for over 85 years. It was originally opened in 1939, according to their website.
Upon calling the bakery, Friday Feb. 6, a voicemail says, “Due to unforeseen circumstances we will now be closing the bakery on Saturday, February 7. No more orders can be taken and we will be first come, first served with limited quantities available in the store. All personnel will be helping our customers therefore we will be unable to answer the phone. Thank you for your understanding, support and your patronage all these years.”
