New ‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ trailer gives first look at Yoshi

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Yoshi, Mario’s trusty dinosaur friend with an enormous appetite, is making his big screen debut.

Illumination and Nintendo released a new trailer for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” Sunday, giving fans their first look at the lovable green dinosaur.

While working to clear a blocked warp pipe, the plumbers Mario and Luigi find Yoshi behind a pile of bricks before the trailer goes on to show some of the action from the new movie.

Yoshi first made his debut in 1996 as part of “Super Mario World” on the Super Nintendo and has been a popular character through many generations of Nintendo games.

“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” features returning stars Chris Pratt as Mario and Jack Black as Bowser.
