FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WBRC) - Thanks to an anonymous person in Jefferson County, Christmas shopping is going to be a little bit easier for families in Fairfield.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with Santa himself Thursday to gift families in Fairfield with shopping cards to help wrap up their holiday shopping.
Sheriff Mark Pettway says community partnerships like this one keep Jefferson County thriving.
“As a community, when we work together the list of goals that we can achieve is limitless,” Pettway said. “Allowing us to be a part of this thoughtful act of kindness is another example of what it takes to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.”
Officials said the person responsible to making the giveaway possible chose to remain anonymous and instead want the focus to be on Jefferson County children having a holiday to remember.
