HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) - Stefanie Derzis, the wife of Hoover Mayor Nick Derzis, is giving folks an inside look at some of Hoover’s most festive homes while raising money for good causes.
Home For Christmas: Hoover Home Tours is a first of its kind event for the city happening Monday, Dec. 9 and Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 6-8:30 p.m.
“We’re having eight beautiful homes decorated,” Derzis told WBRC’s Janice Rogers during Good Day Alabama Friday. “Four in Greystone and then four of them on the west side of Hoover.”
Attendees will be picked up from the Church of Brook Hills and the Hoover Met to tour the homes, including the home of Nick and Stefanie Derzis.
Derzis said the idea came to her from what she heard from residents while campaigning.

“All we heard is, ‘We have nothing to do. There’s nothing to do in Hoover.’ So, i thought, ‘What as First Lady can I do?’” she said. “I thought, and we have done home tours forever. That’s something we’ve always enjoyed and it’s a great way to kick off the holiday season.”
Tickets for the tour costs $100 and include access to both nights.
All money raised will go to Hoover Helps and the Hoover City Schools Foundation.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.
