Lighten up this holiday season on the wackiest tour in town Dec. 11, 16 and 18! The Wacky Tacky Light Tour offers a chance to take in some of the biggest, brightest and funniest displays on a two-hour bus trip leaving from Valley Hotel in Homewood. Buy a ticket and bring a friend or reserve your own party bus. The Wacky Tacky Light Tour fundraises money through ticket sales each year for Gross Out Camp. Experience Alabama’s largest drive-thru animated lights show at the Birmingham Race Course Nov. 21 – Jan. 4. The Christmas-themed attraction, which features millions of lights synchronized to popular holiday music and two 300-foot tunnels, can be enjoyed from the comfort of your car. Tickets for family cars or vans start at $25 on weekdays and $35 on weekends and holidays. Larger vans, limos and minibuses start at $40 on weekdays and $50 on weekends and holidays. Ever wondered what it would look like if the Grinch decorated his cave for Christmas? Step inside Rickwood Caverns State Park for Wonderland Under Warrior Nov. 22 – Jan. 4. This underground winter escape maintains a temperature of 62° year-round, so there is no need to pack on the layers during a cold day. Take the scenic route and enjoy a beautiful tradition right by the Coosa River at River Rocks Landing in Gadsden. Light on the Landing offers a full mile of dazzling Christmas lights perfectly synced with holidays music Nov. 21 – Jan. 4. As you drive through the sparkling scene, there will be sing along carols and opportunities to capture cozy holiday photos. Choccolocco Park transforms into a Christmas fairy-tale Nov. 21 – Jan. 4. In addition to the drive-thru family-friendly holiday lights show, Festival of Lights, Choccolocco Park offers snow tubing, pictures with Santa, Frosty’s playground, ice skating, and multiple vendors. Tickets are priced by the vehicle starting at $25 on weekdays and $30 on weekends for groups of 8 or fewer and can be purchased online by clicking or tapping here. Winter Wonderland at Sportsman Lake Park
Cruise through over 2 million Christmas lights as Sportsman Lake Park transforms into a Winter Wonderland Nov. 20 – Dec. 28. In addition to the drive through lights, families can visit Santa, take train rides, and even ride on a horse drawn carriage on select evenings. Admission is $10 per car or $20 per bus to drive through the lights show. Additional charges apply for photos with Santa, train rides and carriage rides. The 7th Annual Christmas at the Grotto is returning Nov. 20- Dec. 23. Surround yourself with glowing lights, festival music and holiday cheer brought to you by Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman. Admission starts at $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $9 for military/first responders, $10 for teens (ages 13-17), $9 for kids (ages 5-12), and is free for visitors 4 and under. This year, Christmas at the Grotto and Sportsman Lake’s Winter Wonderland are teaming up with Cullman’s Christkindlmarkt for a one stop holiday destination.
