Glow Wild brings more holiday magic to Birmingham Zoo

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Who needs the North Pole? Go wild this holiday season right here in Birmingham. Glow Wild: An Animal Lantern Celebration returns to Birmingham Zoo on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Each year, Glow Wild offers the chance to stroll through a mile long showcasing of lanterns and live entertainment after regular business hours at Birmingham Zoo. From 5-9 p.m. guests can hop on the train for a dazzling ride through the zoo, experience the Holiday Village as the Children’s Zoo transforms into a winter wonderland and indulge in seasonal treats like hot chocolate and apple cider.

This year, Glow Wild will feature many new lanterns as well as some fan-favorites. With more than one million lights, brand new installations and handcrafted lanterns, Glow Wild 2025 promises to bring a brighter than ever holiday experience.

While most of the zoo animals head inside for nighttime hours, others like flamingos, elephants and the lion may be in their outdoor habitats during the event depending on weather conditions. Guests are encouraged to visit the zoo during daytime hours for a full day of animal encounters.
