TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - A new running club is taking the walking and jogging trails of Tuscaloosa by storm.
Krimson Sole started out as a small group of people less than a month ago, but it’s quickly growing in numbers.
Organizers want to have a lasting impact on people interested in their health while surrounded by a supportive community. They hope to create an atmosphere that’s welcoming to both beginners and seasoned runners.
“It’s really building something for the Black community in Tuscaloosa,” said cofounder Tawanna Brown. “I have always had a passion for fitness and I really wanted to share that with others. It really healed me in a lot of ways.”
Things usually start as Parker Hahn Park across from the Mercedes Amphitheater in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Folks loosen up and then get moving.
Members of Krimson Sole move at a pace their comfortable with as some walk and others jog.
But no one is sitting still.
Along the way they’re supported by others also interested in a more active lifestyle.
“It just depends on your personal preference. It’s not just running. We have people run, walk, crawl jog. Whatever as long as you’re moving,” explained Krimson Sole cofounder Quan Patterson.
