Great Alabama 650 endurance paddler competition gets underway in October
Paddlers will start at Weiss Lake in Rainbow City and finish along the Mobile Bay

RAINBOW CITY, Ala. (WBRC) - An endurance paddler competition is set to take place during the month of Oct. in Alabama along many of its great rivers and lakes, and it all starts in Rainbow City.
For 650 miles, paddlers will test their strength, endurance and mental fortitude on the longest paddle race in the United States, all according to the ASRT.
Race dates are from Oct. 4 - Oct. 14, 2025.
The route for participants begins at Weiss Lake in Rainbow City and will finish at Fort Morgan in the Mobile Bay.
