MIAMI, Fla. (WBRC) - Brisket may not be the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Burger King, but the fast food chain is looking to change that.
As part of the company’s “Whopper by You” initiative, BK is rolling out the first twist on the classic Whopper, the BBQ Brisket Whopper.
Burger King says the new creation is inspired by “what Whopper fanatics across the country have been asking for.”
The sandwich comes with slow-cooked BBQ brisket, crispy onions, American cheese and a sweet BBQ sauce piled on top of the quarter-pound beef patty, lettuce, tomato, and mayo the classic whopper is known for.
“Whopper by You” is a new initiative by Burger King to let guests submit their dream Whopper creations beginning July 15.

“Whether it’s a spicy twist, a craveable remix, a cheese-loaded mashup or anything in between, all creative culinary dreams are encouraged and welcome,” BK said in a press release.
“As the brand known for ‘Have It Your Way,’ we want to continue letting our guests tell us what they want – and when it comes to our iconic Whopper sandwich, they have a lot of ideas,” said Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer at Burger King “We’re excited to kick off the ‘Whopper by You’ platform with the BBQ Brisket Whopper, a flavor profile that our Guests requested and we are very excited to answer with an overwhelming ‘You Rule’!”
Anyone who submits a Whopper creation at BK.com can redeem Royal Perks that could range from one-cent Whopper sandwich each week for a year to free hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and more.
The BBQ Brisket Whopper and it’s Whopper Jr. counterpart will be available for a limited time starting July 15 at participating restaurants nationwide.
