BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - McWane Science Center is debuting two new experiences this summer.

The You Build It exhibit invites guests to step into the role of engineer, architect, and inventor. The experience allows families to explore the fundamentals of design and construction through hands-on activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. The interactive space includes Lego blocks, Keva planks, and Rigamajig kits, offering endless opportunities to build, test, and explore.

You can also experience the magic of flight and friendship when the live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon comes to McWane’s IMAX Dome Theater. You’ll follow the journey of Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless, in a visually stunning live-action adventure.

How to Train Your Dragon will be presented in IMAX on Alabama’s largest screen with immersive surround sound starting Friday, June 13.

One note for regular visitors: The Vulcan Dream Machine - also known as the Ball Machine - has been moved to the opposite side of the lobby to make way for a new addition set to arrive later this summer.
