Baking News: Oatmeal energy bites

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - If you’re looking for a guilt-free dessert to help maintain those new years healthy resolutions, this is the baked good for you! These oatmeal bites are simple and quick to make.

What you need:

  • 3 cups oats
  • 1 cup peanut butter or any nut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Optional:

  • chia seeds
  • vanilla extract
  • raisins
  • coconut
  • cinnamon
  • banana or other fruits

Directions:

Combine the oats, honey, chocolate chips and nut butter in a standard mixing bowl. Then add any of the optional ingredients and mix them together. The easiest way is with your hands. Then mold a tablespoon of the mixture into a ball. And that’s it! These are best after half an hour chilling in the fridge.
